What To Watch: SPEED Programming Notes

DESPAIN TO HOST FROM THE DIRT TRACK – Dave Despain will host SPEED’s live coverage of the WoO World Finals from The Dirt Track at Lowe’s Motor Speedway Saturday night beginning at 8 p.m. ET. The SPEED Sprint Car announce team will include Bobby Gerould with play-by-play, Brad Doty providing analysis and Erin Crocker Evernham reporting from the pits. Shane Andrews will handle play-by-play for the Late Model races, with Roger Slack on analysis and Sarah Jane Hunt in the pits.

GORDON FEATURED ON ‘THE REAL DEAL – Four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon will be the featured guest on this week’s edition of “The Real Deal’ with Wendy Venturini, part of the popular pre-race program, NASCAR RaceDay Built by The Home Depot. The show, hosted by John Roberts, Jimmy Spencer and Kenny Wallace begins at 12:30 p.m. ET on Sunday. Other NASCAR RaceDay guests include Jamie McMurray, Brad Keselowski and Robbie Loomis.

TOURING SERIES CHAMPIONS VISIT NASCAR RACE HUB – All next week, winners from the various NASCAR Touring Series will be featured on NASCAR Race Hub (Mondays thru Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. ET). Included will be 17-year-old Ryan Truex, younger brother of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Martin Truex and a developmental driver for Michael Waltrip Racing. The younger Truex captured the Sunoco Rookie of the Year and the NASCAR Camping World East title with three wins and eight Top-10 finishes in the 11-race season.

SCHUMACHER A ‘TUNNEL’ GUEST – Six-time NHRA Top Fuel champion and 2008 runner-up for the SPEED Performer of the Year Tony Schumacher will be one of the featured guests on Sunday’s edition of Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain. Schumacher holds a one-point lead over two-time Top Fuel champ Larry Dixon heading into the season finale in Pomona next week. Dixon’s crew chief, Alan Johnson, was the lead wrench for four of Schumacher’s six titles and now co-owns Al-Anabi Racing with Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Thani, a member of the ruling family of Qatar.
