Denny Hamlin won the Coors Light Pole Award for the Emory Healthcare 500 with a lap of 29.587 seconds, 187.380 mph. This is his eighth pole in 176 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.

















This is Hmlin's 50th series pole for Joe Gibbs Racing. This is his first pole and seventh top-10 start in 2010. Hamlin's last pole came at Auto Club Speedway in October of 2009, 30 races ago. This is his first pole in 11 races at Atlanta Motor Speedway. His previous best start at Atlanta was fourth in October of 2006.

Ryan Newman qualified second and posted his 14th top-10 start of 2010 and his 13th in 18 races at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Kyle Busch will start third and posted his eighth top-10 start at Atlanta Motor Speedway. It is his 14th in 25 races this season.
