EXCLUSIVE: Richard Petty Motorsports Director of Competition Robbie Loomis reacts to the news that John Darby is being replaced as NASCAR Sprint Cup Director.

It has been confirmed that NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Director John Darby has been reassigned within the organization.

His replacement will be announced soon.

“That’s a tough job, that position,” Richard Petty Motorsports Executive Vice President of Race Operations Robbie Loomis said on Tuesday during the annual Sprint media tour. “I think he’s been very fair. I was surprised to hear about it. I’m sure it’s been very taxing on him. Just the travel, itself can wear you out.

“But I’m sure they’ll get somebody in there that has good character and strong beliefs and it will be a good deal.”
