VIDEO: Last Lap Dover - Johnson Wins

Since the inception of NASCAR's Chase format in 2004, no winner of Dover International Speedway's fall race has gone on to win the Cup title.

Jimmie Johnson, who rolled to a dominant victory in Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup AAA 400 at the Monster Mile, will now look to change that.

Johnson, who swept Dover's Cup events this season after doing likewise as a rookie in 2002, notched his fifth career win at the track.

"That's right, boys. Maximum points. Thank you," Johnson said after leading 271 of 400 laps.

The three-time defending Cup champion entered the race trailing Hendrick Motorsports teammate
Mark Martin by 35 points for the lead in the Sprint Cup standings. Martin, who finished nearly 2 seconds behind Johnson to finish second in the race, still leads the Chase by 10 points over Johnson.
