Denny Hamlin got his fifth victory of the season when he won the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

















And he barely broke a sweat doing it.

Hamlin led most of the second half of the race and led it by margins of, at times, 10 seconds. He led 123 of the 200 laps.

Only a caution for debris with 17 laps to go allowed second-place Kasey Kahne to finish the race with Hamlin in sight.

“Just a great year,” Hamlin said afterward. “It’s so easy to drive cars like this. The make me look good.”

The victory was the second straight for the Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota and the third in the last five races.

Kurt Busch finished third and Jeff Gordon was fourth.

Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnahardt Jr. were fifth through seventh.

Kevin Harvick, the points leader coming into the race, was 19th. Kyle Busch, second in points and 19 behind Harvick when the race started, finished 20th. Harvick picked up three points on Busch but Hamlin, in third place, moved to within 47 points of the lead.
