SPEED’s Wendy Venturini and the Sadler Family on this week’s edition of 'Real Deal' from Darlington Raceway.
Wendy Venturini "There are so many people in this sport involved as a family, so have you ever wondered how some of these drivers acted as children? With Mother’s day tomorrow we thought it would be fitting to find out some answers. We picked a family very near and dear to our hearts, the Sadlers. Have you ever wondered if Hermie was the tattle tail or was Elliott the spoiled one? These are answers you are going to find here, only on SPEED in this weeks' 'Real Deal'.
Wendy Venturini "Elliott if you could describe your mom in one sentence, what would it be?"
Elliott Sadler "She is so laid back, so easy going, I think easy going is the best thin I can describe my mom, she never seems to be rattled, she is just so strong o matter what type of situation we are in. She is just a great personality and we try to feed off of that."
Wendy Venturini "Hermie let’s have some fun. How much grief did you cause your mother?"
Hermie Sadler "Well, you would probably have to ask her that. I took advantage of her from time to time but I always knew what I had to face if I didn't
Belle Sadler "Life was not boring with them, but they were always kind of got along and stood in line when they were supposed to. When they were supposed to straighten up they did. They teased each other often."
Wendy Venturini "Elliott, were you the tattle-tail type, where you would tell on Hermie?"
Elliott Sadler "I was definitely that type. Hermie and my sister Missy used to beat me up all the time when my mom and dad left the house so when she got back home, I said please don’t leave me any more. I was the spoiled brat; I was the mistake in the family. That’s what my mom always said unless I did something good then I was the surprise"
Elliott Sadler "When he was little he was cute and sweet and they spoiled him. When he got a little bit older he was demanding and spoiled and he got his way."
Hermie Sadler "He didn’t have to take piano lessons."
Elliott Sadler “I didn't have to do piano lessons, all I had to do was say 'Mom, I don’t want to do that.'"
