SPEED’s Wendy Venturini with Mark Martin on this weeks edition of “Real Deal” from Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Wendy Venturini "Welcome back to NASCAR Race Day built by the Home Depot. Mark Martin’s win at Darlington was his second win of 2009. The first time he has won twice in a season since back in 1999. Mark Martin is now 11th in points and could possibly be on his way to a championship. Don’t say the "c" word in front of Mark Martin. He says he will go out and try and win every race he can. Here this is week’s "Real Deal" with Mark Martin."

Wendy Venturini "First off, Mark, congrats on the second win this season. What did you think when you got to victory lane the second time? I mean, that’s starting to prove something about the five car."

Mark Martin "You know, for me, in some ways it was even more enjoyable because it was pretty overwhelming at Phoenix. It had been so long and there was so much excitement and so many people coming in. This time I got to really see the team’s face. I got to really feel the enthusiasm and the excitement that they had and that’s better than the trophy."

Wendy Venturini "15 years since your last win at Darlington, can you believe it has been that long?"

Mark Martin "That’s a long time."

Wendy Venturini "Did it feel like it?"

Mark Martin "That’s a long time and we had a lot of great races at Darlington. This was really, really special. It means so much to me. Rick makes it so much fun. Just the coolest stuff, the text he sent me that I got right before I got on the helicopter to leave that night was just really cool. He is just the neatest guy."

Wendy Venturini "So did you tell him just to stay home now?"
