Wendy Venturini "The Chase is heating up for the guys battling to get into the top 12, including for one, Juan Pablo Montoya. This has been a dream season for Juan. Last year at this time he wasn't even thinking about the Chase for the championship, now it is a different story, but in the last two races, he’s lost a ton of points. What does that mean for Juan Pablo Montoya and the 42 team? They have their work cut out for them and for more on that lets check in with Juan. We caught up with Juan at the Reed Sorensen golf tournament here in Atlanta, a nice relaxing weekend leading into a battle for tonight's race. Here is the 'Real Deal' with Juan."

Wendy Venturini "So after the week off, are you ready to hit this final 12 race stretch?"

Juan Pablo Montoya "Yeah, I think these last twelve races should be fun. We have two more races. We need to race really smart the next two races and see what happens. Some weeks you have a lot of luck and you didn’t have a good car and weeks you have a great car and things went bad, its part of what it is."

Wendy Venturini "I know you’d be lying if you said you weren’t worried. How concerned are you?"

Juan Pablo Montoya "You can’t change it, what is going to happen is going to happen. We bring in the best cars we’ve got. We bring in the best engines and we bring in our "A" game and hopefully that is enough."

Wendy Venturini "You have done what you have had to at this point, the way that NASCAR that has set up this system, people criticize it as points racing, what are your thoughts on it?"

Juan Pablo Montoya "They lay out the game and you have to try to play it as smart and as good as you can. I think you know with twelve races to go, you have no idea who the winner is going to be. I think for the fans it is exciting. You don’t want to with five races to go know who is going to win the championship already. The way it is it normally goes down to the wire and it’s exciting to be in it and to try to compete for that Cup you have to be in that Chase and the only way to be in the Chase is to be consistent."

Wendy Venturini "It seems like just yesterday you were making that announcement with Chip Ganassi at Chicagoland saying you were coming into NASCAR. Three years later is it everything you hoped it would be?"

Juan Pablo Montoya "Yes, it has been a lot of fun. I knew when I came here, I came from driving the best car and best technology there is to something that’s very controlled but because it’s so controlled the racing is really good. They really understand that this is all about the fans, where in other series I have been in, they don’t really focus on the fan and I think it is very good the way they do it here."
