Wendy Venturini "Welcome back to NASCAR RaceDay built by the Home Depot. Today nice and sunny in Dover Delaware and last week was a wash-out for sure at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. The guy benefiting with a win was David Reutimann in the 00 and they surely liked that wet dog race they had last week. It was the first win for David Reutimann, it was the first win for Michael Waltrip Racing and as David Reutimann told us in a team meeting that we sat in on, he said it doesn’t matter which car you work for, we work for the same team and I think everybody at Michael Waltrip Racing is proud to call themselves a winner. Here is a look at this week's "Real Deal."

Wendy Venturini "First off, congratulations, you have gone through a lot in your career to get to this day. How does it feel to finally be a Sprint Cup winner?"

David Reutimann "Obviously I was telling everybody when you’re growing up and dreaming of winning a race, you don’t dream of winning a rain-shortened race. You want to do it the old- fashioned way, so to speak, but Rodney Childers put us in a great position there and he made the right call. We took a gamble and that is part of the deal so it feels good. Still trying to take it all in see all that is involved, getting your name engraved on the trophy and all of the stuff that goes along with that. It has been a unique experience and I have had a lot of fun with it and more importantly, I think the guys around the shop have had fun, too, because those are the guys that work week in and week out to gets us there, they deserve that."

Wendy Venturini "What was your initial reaction when you realized that you were that first car staying out?"

David Reutimann “I said we’ve got to stay out. Stay out. Stay out. And I made it about that way before I said follow those guys. They have to know something we don’t. I can tell you this. I will not be doubting Rodney Childers. He told me it is a gamble. We need to come in and work on our car anyway and make it better. Why not gamble and see if it sticks? It was the right call. The perfect call.”

Wendy Venturini ”Perfect call. They outfox the field. And they had to make it work. What are your thoughts and what do you say to those critics say you stole this race?”

David Reutimann “You know, I mean, somebody has to win it. That’s the way the rules are. We have seen it happen time and time again. And maybe if it was another driver they wouldn’t be making such a big deal about it. In the end I am having a hard time caring.”

Wendy Venturini “Your Dad came up to you. What did you say to him?”

David Reutimann “What can you say?”

Wendy Venturini “Your dad is your hero, as we know. There were some times during the rain delay, and it was only when He was near you talking when I saw you smile. “

David Reutimann “He has a way of coming up out of the blue and coming up with something completely ridiculous like are you hungry? No, I’m not hungry. I got chicken wings over there do you want me to get you a chicken wing? No. Do you want something to drink? I don’t want anything to drink. He knew it was aggravating me. Do you want a piece of gum? And just try to do something because he knows how nervous I get and just to try to break the ice and hopefully make what was going on go by quicker.”
