Ty Dillon set fast time in this morning’s first of two practices for tonight’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Dillon turned his best lap of 181.378 miles per hour in the last two minutes of the hour-long practice session, elevating the No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet Silverado to the top of the board when it counted.

NCWTS points leader Timothy Peters wheeled the No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota to a best lap of 180.681 mph around the 1.5-mile CMS circuit, which was good enough for second place.

Third-fast in the session at 179.988 mph was Joey Coulter and the No. 22 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet. Then came Matt Crafton and the No. 88 ThorSport Racing Chevrolet at 179.982 mph, with Justin Lofton fifth in the No. 6 Eddie Sharp Racing Chevy.

The final Happy Hour round of Truck Series practice begins at 10:20 a.m. ET and will be televised on SPEED.

SPEED will also televise Truck Series qualifying at 4 p.m. Race coverage starts at 7:30 p.m. with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Setup, followed by the race at 8 p.m.

After four races this season, Peters leads James Buescher by 4 points and Lofton by 11.
