Timothy Peters won the pole Saturday for Saturday afternoon’s Kroger 200 Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway as all three top championship contenders landed in the top 10.
Peters, second in series points, had a fast lap of 96.411 miles per hour. He edged Sprint Cup regular Kevin Harvick, who ran 96.278.
Series point leader Ty Dillon qualified sixth, and James Buescher, second in points, was 10th.
Also in the top 10 in time trials were Brian Scott, Nelson Piquet Jr., Denny Hamlin, Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter and Jeff Agnew.
Dillon, who leads Buescher by one point in the championship race, was the last driver to make a qualifying run Saturday. He was on the track earlier in the session, but rain interrupted qualifying for the second time, and he was moved to the end of the qualifying row.
The race is scheduled for a 2 p.m. ET green flag on SPEED, with coverage beginning at 1:30 with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Setup.
