Persistent light Texas rains forced the cancellation of qualifying for tomorrow night’s WinStar World 400 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

SPEED’s race coverage Friday night begins at 8:30 p.m. ET with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Setup, followed by the race at 9 p.m.

NASCAR officials said that depending on weather, there may be practice at the 1.5-mile track later today.

The rainout means the field will be set per the NASCAR rulebook.

Thus, Justin Lofton will start from the pole in his No. 6 Eddie Sharp Racing Toyota. Lofton will be flanked on Row 1 by Timothy Peters and the No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota.

Row 2 will be Ty Dillon’s No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet and the No. 31 Turner Motorsports Chevy of James Buescher, with Parker Kligerman and Todd Bodine on Row 3.

With six of 22 races in the books for the 2012 Truck Series season, Lofton leads Peters by a single point. Dillon is 13 points back and Buescher 16 markers in arrears.
