Former Sprint Cup Series driver Steve Park is returning to NASCAR’s top three touring divisions in a Chevy Silverado for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Talladega on October 31st.

Park, who drove a Sprint Cup Series car fro Dale Earnhardt Incorporated from 1998 to 2001 is perhaps best remembered for scoring an emotional win for DEI at Rockingham in 2001 only weeks after Dale Earnhardt Senior was killed in a crash on the last lap of the Daytona 500. Later that year, Park suffered a severe brain injury at Darlington during the Nationwide Series race and was forced to sit out the rest of the season.

He returned in 2002 for six races, but in the middle of 2003 he was released from DEI and signed with Richard Childress Racing then left the team at the end of the year. He competed in NASCAR’s Truck Series from 2004 to 2006 scoring a victory in 2005 and compiling an overall record of eight top-5 and 16 top-10 finishes and was the Series most popular driver in 2004.

Since 2007 Park has been racing the NASCAR Camping World East Series and has one win, that coming this year, and six top-5 and 17 top-10 finishes.

Park will be behind the wheel of the No. 02 Chevy for Corrie Stott Racing at Talladega with sponsorship from Koma Unwind.

The deal came together due to a friendship between Park and Koma Unwind CEO Brian Weber.

"Steve and I have known each other for quite some time. We raced together when we were both just kids, and I am pleased that he has agreed to get in the seat for us at Talladega" said Weber. "The Truck series continuously puts on great shows at the super speedway racks, and we can not wait to see what Steve can do with the Koma Unwind truck".
