Dennis Setzer, driver of the No. 18 Royal Gate Dodge Chrysler Jeep Dodge, scored the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Keystone Light Pole qualifying award at Gateway International Raceway with a 33.927 second lap time averaging 132.638 mph. This is the first pole for Dodge since Bobby Hamilton Jr. won the pole at Martinsville on April 1, 2006. Setzer joins reigning 2007 champion Ron Hornaday, Jr. who will start on the outside front row in the second position. Hornaday posted his 15th top-10 start of 2008 and his fifth in six races at Gateway International Raceway.
Rookie Brian Scott laid down an impressive qualifying lap and will start third with fellow rookie of the year point leader Colin Braun in fourth. Scott, the highest qualifying rookie, posted his first top-10 start at Gateway, his third in 17 races this season.
Todd Bodine
was the fastest qualifying Toyota and will start fifth.
