Nelson Piquet Jr., a newcomer to racing at Rockingham Speedway, led Friday’s second practice for Sunday’s Good Sam Road Assistance 200 Camping World Truck race.
Piquet turned a lap at 143.358 miles per hour to lead the second practice session of the day at the one-mile track, which is making a return to NASCAR racing this weekend.
Following Piquet were Matt Crafton, Miguel Paludo, John Wes Townley and Jeff Agnew.
Joey Coulter, who led the 90-minute practice earlier in the day, was eighth in the second session.
Rockingham last hosted a NASCAR race in 2004 when the Sprint Cup series raced at the track for the final time.
