Nelson Piquet Jr. topped the speed charts during the final Happy Hour round of practice for Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Phoenix International Raceway.

Late in the session, Piquet drove the No. 30 Turner Motorsports Chevrolet to a lap of 136.096 miles per hour, tops among the 38 trucks entered in the penultimate race of the Truck Series season.

All told, the top 10 trucks all ran faster than the existing track record.

Parker Kligerman, pilot of one of the three Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundras, ran 134.958 mph, good enough for second in the marathon session, which lasted more than two hours.

Third behind Kligerman was Ty Dillon, driver of the No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, who ran a fast lap of 134.917

Right behind Dillon was Timothy Peters, who had a best lap of 134.847 in the No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota.

Ryan Blaney was fifth in the No. 29 Brad Keselowski-owned Ram, followed by Brian Scott, David Mayhew and Ryan Truex. Johnny Sauter and Joey Coulter completed the top 10.

SPEED will televise qualifying for the Lucas Oil 150 Friday at 4:30 p.m ET. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Setup is next at 7:30 p.m., followed by the race at 8 p.m.

With 20 of 22 races in the books for the 2012 season, James Buescher leads Dillon by 15 points and Peters by 25.
