Kevin Harvick continues to shine in his visits to the Camping World Truck Series.

Harvick topped the speed chart Friday in the opening practice for Saturday’s Kroger 200 Truck race at Martinsville Speedway.

Harvick was the only driver who ran the half-mile track in less than 20 seconds in the practice. His speed was 94.742 miles per hour.

Following in the top five were Jason Leffler, Todd Bodine, Nelson Piquet Jr. and Joey Coulter.

Former Martinsville winner Ron Hornaday Jr. was sixth, and series newcomer Jeb Burton, son of NASCAR veteran Ward Burton, was seventh.

A second Truck practice is scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday. The session will be televised by SPEED.
