Joey Coulter led the opening round of practice for tonight’s UNOH 225 Camping World Truck Series race at Kentucky Speedway.

Coulter lapped the 1.5-mile Kentucky oval at 170.530 miles per hour in his No. 22 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, fastest of the 39 trucks setting times in the session.

Second-fast was Parker Kligerman, who ran 170.487 mph in the Brad Keselowski-owned No. 29 Drawtite Ram.

Points leader Justin Lofton had a lap of 170.034 mph in his No. 6 CollegeComplete.com Chevrolet Silverado out of the Eddie Sharp Racing stables, good enough for third in the practice.

Then it was the No. 31 Turner Motorsports Chevy of James Buescher at 170.148 mph and his teammate Nelson Piquet Jr. Sixth was Ty Dillon followed by Miguel Paludo, Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter and Ross Chastain.

SPEED’s live Truck Series television coverage from Kentucky Speedway begins with qualifying at 5 p.m. ET. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Setup airs at 7:30 p.m., followed by the race at 8 p.m.

With seven of 22 races in the books for the 2012 Truck Series season, Lofton leads Peters by five points, Dillon by 12 and Buescher by 23.
