The Rock is officially back.

NASCAR vehicles ran laps at Rockingham Speedway for the first time in eight years Friday as Camping World Truck Series drivers practiced for Sunday’s Good Sam Roadside Assistance 200 at the one-mile track.

Chevrolet driver Joey Coulter led the way in the 90-minute session, posting a speed of 144.445 miles per hour.

Following in the top five were Timothy Peters, James Buescher, Parker Kligerman and Nelson Piquet Jr.

In the second five were Matt Crafton, Todd Bodine, Justin Loftin, Johnny Sauter and Ron Hornaday Jr.

Thirty-four drivers participated in the session.

A second session is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. (ET).
