James Buescher led this morning’s final Happy Hour round of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice for tonight’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Buescher, winner of the most recent Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway, had a best lap of 179.922 miles per hour in the No. 31 Turner Motorsports Chevrolet. That was tops among the 40 trucks practicing.

Next behind Buescher was another Chevrolet, the No. 6 Eddie Sharp Racing entry driven by Justin Lofton, who ran 179.892 mph. Cale Gale was third, running 179.862 mph in the No. 33 Richard Childress Racing entry.

Completing the top five were Brendan Gaughan in a second RCR entry and Brad Keselowski’s Ram.

SPEED will televise Truck Series qualifying at 4 p.m. Race coverage starts at 7:30 p.m. with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Setup, followed by the race at 8 p.m.

After four races this season, Timothy Peters leads Buescher by 4 points and Lofton by 11.
