Ron Hornaday Jr., looking for his first victory in 17 races at Martinsville Speedway, led Friday's practice session for Saturday’s Kroger 200 with a speed of 96.039 miles per hour.

Hornaday edged long-time rival Mike Skinner, whose fast lap registered 96.034 mph.

Following in the top five were Timothy Peters, Stacy Compton and Austin Dillon.

Qualifying for the 200 is scheduled at 4:30 p.m.
