NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES IN MIDST OF TIGHTEST POINTS BATTLE IN SERIES HISTORY

TALLADEGA RATINGS ON SPEED CLIMB AS DILLON, BUESCHER HEAD TO MARTINSVILLE SEPARATED BY SINGLE POINT

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series rookie Ty Dillon, grandson of legendary NASCAR team owner Richard Childress, escaped his inaugural race at Talladega Superspeedway with a one-point lead over James Buescher, making it the closest points race in series history at this point in the season.

With just four races remaining, Dillon, who won the ARCA Racing Series championship as a rookie last season, and whose brother, Austin, won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series title last year, is also keeping an eye on the rest of the top five -- Timothy Peters (26 points behind), Talladega winner Parker Kligerman (-34) and RCR teammate Joey Coulter (-50).

And according to Nielsen Media Research, SPEED audiences are tuning in to see how things play out.

Ratings for the NCWTS race at Talladega (.84) were up 31% from last year’s equivalent race weekend from Las Vegas (.64). It was the highest-rated Trucks race with M18-49 in over four months, and during the time period of the Trucks race, SPEED was the seventh highest rated network in basic cable with Households (0.84), third highest among M35-54 (0.75), and fifth highest among M18-49 (0.39).

The popular pre-race show, NCWTS Setup, also enjoyed year-to-year ratings growth, jumping 38% above last season’s equivalent weekend.

LIVE coverage of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns to SPEED on Saturday, Oct. 27 from Martinsville Speedway, with Truck Series qualifying at 10:30 a.m. ET, NCWTS Setup with Krista Voda at 1:30 p.m. ET and race coverage beginning at 2 p.m. ET.

SPEED, home to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series since 2003, also will carry the final three races of the season live – Texas (Nov. 2), Phoenix (Nov. 9) and Homestead (Nov. 16).
