David Mayhew easily won the pole Saturday afternoon for Saturday night’s Coca-Cola 200 Camping World Truck Series race at Iowa Speedway.
The Chevrolet driver ran 136.482 miles per hour, breezing past the speed of second-place Joey Coulter, who ran 135.560.
It’s the first Truck pole for Mayhew, who is driving for Kevin Harvick Inc.
Also in the top five were James Buescher, Timothy Peters and Austin Dillon. Peters, in a Toyota, was the only non-Chevrolet driver in the first five.
Series point leader Johnny Sauter qualified sixth.
Cole Whitt, who led Happy Hour practice, qualified 14th.
Saturday night’s race will be broadcast by SPEED beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.
