Speed Channel Adds Tweeden to Cast of NASCAR Nation

SPEED Channel announced today that Fox Sports Net personality Leeann Tweeden will join the cast of NASCAR Nation, serving as one of three new studio hosts beginning June 27 at 7 p.m. ET and PT.

"Leeann is the perfect person to bridge the worlds of NASCAR and entertainment," said Chris Long, SPEED Channel VP of Studio Production. "NASCAR Nation is designed to explore the sport as a growing segment of pop culture, and Leeann is equally comfortable at the race track and the red carpet."

"As the sport continues to grow in popularity, more and more celebrities are becoming fascinated with racing," said Tweeden, who grew up attending races with her family in and around Manassas, Va. "It's fun to go with some of them to their first race and see them
overwhelmed by the experience. They think the racing is cool, but they quickly realize it is much more than the race -- it's the sounds, the smells, the people at the race track. It's a total experience and, like anyone else, once you get them to the track, they're hooked."

Tweeden, who also will continue her position as the "Best Damn Insider" on FSN's Best Damn Sports Show Period, began her career in front of the camera as a model, moving to the small screen with hosting and correspondence duties on such shows as Fox Sports Net's 54321, Bluetorch and High Octane, FX's Toughman, ESPN's Fitness Beach and E!' Entertainment's Wild On…

An avid sports fan, Tweeden enjoys dirt biking, driving race cars, skydiving, scuba diving, snowboarding and hiking.
