SPEED™ HITS THE TRACK WITH 100 HOURS OF HIGH DEFINITION PROGRAMMING FROM DAYTONA SPEEDWEEKS

SPEEDWEEKS KICKS OFF ON SPEED WITH COVERAGE OF NASCAR MEDIA DAY AT DAYTONA AND BUD SHOOTOUT DRAWING

SPEED will deliver more than 100 hours of programming from Daytona Speedweeks this year, highlighted by coverage of the Gatorade Duel at Daytona on Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. ET with a prime time replay at 9 p.m. ET, the season-opening NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. ET (NCWTS Setup with Krista Voda at 7:30 p.m.), the ARCA 200 on Feb. 7 at 4 p.m. ET and special editions of the popular, live pre-race show NASCAR RaceDay.

NASCAR on SPEED at Daytona Programming Schedule

Krista Voda and Jeff Hammond will return to host SPEED coverage of the Gatorade Duel at Daytona, with Larry McReynolds and Darrell Waltrip joining Mike Joy in the booth for race coverage. Steve Byrnes, Dr. Dick Berggren and Matt Yocum will cover pit road.

In 2008, SPEED’s second year of live and exclusive coverage of the Gatorade Duel at Daytona, the network delivered a 12-percent ratings increase over 2007, making it the second-most watched program in SPEED history.

“SPEED had an awesome NASCAR season across the board in 2008,” said SPEED President Hunter Nickell. “And in 2009, we’ll keep the momentum going with the coolest NASCAR coverage on television. We’ll be there for more than 100 hours at Daytona and won’t let up all season long.”

SPEED opens its Daytona Speedweeks lineup with coverage of NASCAR Media Day on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. ET, followed by the Bud Shootout Drawing at 8 p.m. ET. The third annual SPEED™ Performance Awards (10 p.m. ET) wraps up opening day programming with presentation of the Mario Andretti Trophy to the SPEED™ Performer of the Year.
