THE RACING CHEF TO DOUBLE AS CELEBRITY JUDGE FOR COOK-OFF FEATURING MIAMI FIREFIGHTERS

Chef Nicky Morse, host of The Racing Chef on SPEED, will trade in his chef’s apron for a judge’s hat Friday in Miami.

Chef Nicky will be a celebrity judge at the NASCAR Hot and Spicy Cook-Off in Miami Beach on Friday, an event that pits six local fire departments against each other. Miami’s finest will face off in two preliminary rounds followed by a championship round, all of which will be judged by SPEED’s culinary expert alongside other NASCAR and local celebrities.

“We’ve all heard how well firefighters can cook and how much of a social role food plays in their daily lives,” Morse said. “I’m looking forward to seeing that first-hand this week and to sampling some of their favorite dishes. We’ll see which of Miami’s local heroes can also get the job done in the kitchen.”

The event, part of the Coca-Cola Fuels NASCAR Championship Drive leading into this weekend’s NASCAR season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, begins at 1:30pm ET in Lummus Park on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. Six fire departments, each with as many as three chefs, will go head-to-head in two preliminary rounds, followed by the final cook-off. Recipes selected by the participants in all three rounds must contain Coca-Cola as an ingredient.

Chef Nicky Morse can also be seen on the next episode of The Racing Chef, scheduled to air Saturday at 10:30 a.m. ET on SPEED.
