SPEED is giving race fans and its on-air talent yet another reason to pull out those laptops and smartphones and lose themselves in social media beginning Saturday at Richmond.

SPEED, the exclusive television home of the May 21 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race (live at 7 p.m. ET), launches the largest interactive race broadcast in motor sports history with the addition of SPEED Social Tracker, a social media dashboard comprised of at least 20 SPEED on-air personalities answering fans’ questions in real time and posting analysis via Twitter and SPEED’s Facebook page during the All-Star Race and in the preceding weeks.

Kyle Petty and Rutledge Wood, two of SPEED’s most proficient social media gurus, kicked off the campaign at Richmond during SPEED’s live broadcast of NASCAR RaceDay Built by The Home Depot (5-7 p.m. ET), answering fan questions regarding the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race via the social media outlets as well as live on-air during the broadcast.

All social media interaction between April 30 at Richmond and the May 21 All-Star Race will be live on the SPEED Social Tracker, located at www.SPEED.com/Allstar or SPEED’s Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/speed

“We constantly hear from SPEED viewers that they’re hungry for as much behind-the-scenes information and expert opinion in real time as we can give them,” said SPEED VP of Marketing and Promotions Nancy MacDonald. “We have some of the most social media-savvy on-air talent in the business, so the SPEED Social Tracker is the perfect way to blend the fans’ search for interactive information with our on-air personalities’ expert opinions. This addition should make for the best NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race experience NASCAR fans have ever had.”

Fans can pose questions via Twitter by using the hashtag #speedQA or on SPEED.com’s Facebook page (Facebook page component not active until Dover weekend). From May 16 through May 21, #sprintallstar joins #speedQA for all social media interaction on Twitter, linking SPEED, NASCAR, Sprint and Charlotte Motor Speedway in their use of #sprintallstar for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. This team effort allows fans to follow all the day’s
