SPEED TO COVER THURSDAY’S NASCAR CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDERS PRESS CONFERENCE LIVE FROM FLORIDA

SPEED LIVE WITH 13.5 HOURS OF ORIGINAL NASCAR PROGRAMMING FROM HOMESTEAD SEASON FINALE


NASCAR CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDERS PRESS CONFERENCE: SPEED will interrupt regularly scheduled programming Thursday at 1 p.m. ET to present live coverage of the NASCAR Championship Contenders Press Conference from Coral Gables, Fla., with Denny Hamlin, Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick. SPEED.com also will offer live streaming of the press conference. Danielle Trotta will host SPEED’s coverage from the NASCAR Race Hub set at the SPEED Studios in Charlotte.

FORMULA ONE: According to Nielsen Media Research, ratings from last Sunday’s Formula One Grand Prix season finale from Abu Dhabi were up 24-percent year-to-year in households over 2009 and 33-percent among M35-54. SPEED’s 2010 F1 season coverage closed with a 13-percent year-to-year increase in households, as well as a 13-percent increase among M35-54 over the 2009 season. The four F1 events broadcast on FOX were up 20-percent in households and 50-percent among M35-54 over equivalent 2009 events.

TRUCKS FINALE: SPEED rolls into the season-ending NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race from Homestead with Kyle Busch looking to lock up the owner’s championship in his inaugural year as a driver/owner. The network kicks off its coverage of the season finale with live presentation of qualifying Friday at 5 p.m. ET. NCWTS Setup with Krista Voda is set for 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by live coverage of the race at 8 p.m. ET. Rick Allen, Phil Parsons and Michael Waltrip will call the action from the booth, with Adam Alexander and Ray Dunlap reporting from the pits.

SPEED and NASCAR.com again will partner to offer viewers an enhanced view to accompany SPEED’s Truck Series race telecast. Truck Race Buddy will offer four live streams – two on-board cameras, a pit road camera and a backstretch view.

NASCAR RACE HUB: The Hub (7 p.m. ET Monday-Thursday) on Wednesday features interviews with 2011 Turner Motorsports drivers Reed Sorenson, Jason Leffler and Justin Allgaier. Jeff Hammond will be on hand for Sprint Cup analysis and tech talk.

Danielle Trotta will guest host on Thursday’s Hub as Steve Byrnes will be in Homestead this weekend. Penske Racing driver Sam Hornish Jr. will be a featured guest and Jimmy Spencer will offer his take on the latest news in the sport.

WRAPPING UP THE SEASON IN HOMESTEAD: In support of the NASCAR season finales in the Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series, SPEED will offer 13.5 hours of original NASCAR content from Homestead this weekend. In addition to SPEED’s Truck Series race presentation Friday evening, the network’s live line-up from the track includes Nationwide Series practice Friday at 1 p.m. ET; qualifying for the Camping World Truck Series Friday at 5 p.m. ET; Nationwide Series final practice at 6:30 p.m. ET Friday; Nationwide Series qualifying Saturday at 11:30 a.m. ET; and Sprint Cup Series practice Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET.

NASCAR RACEDAY GOES BIG: Sunday’s NASCAR RaceDay Built by The Home Depot from Homestead will close the season out with a bang with a special three-hour edition beginning at 9 a.m. ET. The regular gang of John Roberts, Kyle Petty and Kenny Wallace will be joined at the main stage by Darrell Waltrip. Steve Byrnes, Larry McReynolds and Jeff Hammond will offer analysis from a second set inside the track, while Wendy Venturini and Hermie Sadler report the latest from the garage area and catch up with the biggest players in the sport, including live interviews with Denny Hamlin, Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, Juan Pablo Montoya and Joey Logano. The show also reflects on Johnson’s four-year title reign, as well as how Harvick has emerged from the shadow of Dale Earnhardt, Sr.

THE GANG’S ALL HERE ON TRACKSIDE: In the final at-track “party” of the 2010 season, the old Trackside gang of Steve Byrnes, Larry McReynolds, Jeff Hammond and Darrell Waltrip reunites to welcome Jeff Burton and Kurt Busch to the SPEED Stage Friday from Homestead-Miami Speedway. Trackside airs at 10:30 p.m. ET Friday following the live NASCAR Camping World Truck Series finale from Homestead.

NASCAR K&N PRO SERIES: SPEED will present delayed coverage of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series from Phoenix Thursday at 6 p.m. ET.

WIND TUNNEL: With Dave Despain in his usual spot in the Wind Tunnel studio in Charlotte, Larry McReynolds will guest co-host this week’s edition of Wind Tunnel live from Homestead Sunday at 9 p.m. ET. The newly-crowned 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion will be the duo’s guest.

NASCAR SMARTS: They may be outnumbered, but will Kyle Petty and Rutledge Wood be outsmarted this weekend in Homestead? Petty and Rutledge test their NASCAR trivia mettle against the team of NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader and the Racing Resources whiz duo of Jimmy and Russell. NASCAR Smarts from Homestead airs Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET.

THE RACING CHEF: In Saturday’s edition of The Racing Chef, Chef Nicky Morse travels to Miami for his year-in-review show and looks back on all his great guests throughout the season, as well as some of the best restaurants and infields he visited. The Racing Chef airs Saturday at 10:30 a.m. ET.
