THE NEXT NASCAR HALL OF FAME CLASS: The 25 nominees for the 2012 class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame will be announced Tuesday, April 19 on NASCAR Race Hub on SPEED. Host Steve Byrnes will reveal the list of those chosen for consideration to the third class beginning at 7 p.m. ET.

Voting for the five inductees to the 2012 class will be held in October, and the inductees will be enshrined in the NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in January 2012 on SPEED. The network also will carry the 2011 NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, honoring Lee Petty, Bud Moore, Ned Jarrett, David Pearson and Bobby Allison, May 23, 2011, at 8 p.m. ET, preceded by live pre-event coverage on NASCAR Race Hub at 7 p.m. ET.

NASCAR RACE HUB: On Thursday’s edition of SPEED’s nightly NASCAR news program (7 p.m. ET), host Steve Byrnes welcomes crew chief Slugger Labbe, as well as Hermie Sadler reporting the latest from Talladega, and Jimmy Spencer and Randy Pemberton in the studio with analysis.

ARCA RACING AT ‘DEGA: SPEED presents live coverage of Friday’s ARCA Racing Series race from Talladega at 5 p.m. ET. Rick Allen, Phil Parsons and Ken Schrader host the network’s coverage with Ray Dunlap and Bob Dillner patrolling the pits. Friday’s race marks the series’ second race of the 2011 season.

CHATTING WITH FORCE AND RED: Dave Despain welcomes NHRA legend John Force to the studio Sunday on Wind Tunnel live at 9 p.m. ET. Additionally, Red Farmer, famed member of the “Alabama Gang,” will be a guest, marking his first appearance on the long-running show.

WALL-TO-WALL NASCAR COVERAGE FROM TALLADEGA: SPEED kicks off more than 13 hours of live weekend coverage from Talladega Friday beginning with NASCAR Nationwide Series qualifying at 12 p.m. ET, followed by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice, Cup final practice and Trackside. The network also offers Sprint Cup Series qualifying live at 11:30 a.m. ET Saturday, in addition to NASCAR RaceDay Built by The Home Depot Sunday at 10 a.m. ET.

TRACKSIDE GUESTS: Trackside hosts Steve Byrnes, Darrell Waltrip and Jeff Hammond welcome Brad Keselowski, Paul Menard and Slugger Labbe to the show Friday night from Talladega at 7 p.m. ET.

LEE PETTY SPECIAL: SPEED will air a one-hour special on 2011 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Lee Petty Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET. Petty’s story is told through the eyes of wife Elizabeth, played by an actress re-enacting scenes from Lee’s office in Randleman, N.C. Elizabeth narrates the evolution of Petty from a weekend warrior to a NASCAR champion and his reluctant decision to retire and oversee his son Richard’s racing success. Interviewees include Richard Petty, Maurice Petty, Kyle Petty, Jim Reed, Marvin Panch, Buddy Baker, Junior Johnson and Rex White.
