SPEED's John Roberts and Kyle Petty with special guest Pete Schnatz from the Philadelphia Inquirer at Pocono International Raceway in Long Pond, Pa.

John Roberts "Unless you have ignored every website, publication and TV show done about NASCAR this weekend you would already have known that Kyle Busch is going for a historic triple header weekend. Running the truck series race Friday night, nationwide series race on Saturday afternoon which he finished second in the truck series race and then cap it off with the cup race. Now Kyle, you have been in your share of weekends where you have had to do a lot of driving. What do you think about what young Kyle Busch is pulling off?"

Kyle Petty "The question becomes why, okay? That’s my only question. Why would you run the truck race when you’re not running for the championship? I understand the Busch race. He is trying to win the Busch championship supposedly he has said I’m trying to win the truck owner’s championship, good. For Billy Blue, I’ll give you that. You’re leading the point. He is what, 20, 21, 22? He is invincible man, and I think you look at it and you think, why, because I can. That’s exactly it. That’s why he is doing it when it’s all said and done. Will this wear him down? That’s a tough question. A 20, 21, 22, he made a mental mistake in practice, I will say that. He made a mental mistake. Is that because he flew all night last night and didn’t get home until 2 or 3 in the morning. Is that because he is going to run another race. Will he make a mental mistake on Sunday? I think that’s yet to be seen but I do believe he made a mental mistake here at practice in Pocono and I’m not going to say it’s because of that but it could be a lot of detractors will point their finger and say see we told you."

Pete Schnatz (Philadelphia Inquirer) "My opinion is that why not do it? I mean this is like Kyle gone wild right? He is like a frat boy taking advantage of every opportunity that he has. If he has somebody that’s going to fly him to Texas, fly him back here, fly him to Nashville, fly him back, the guy wants to race. So I would say take every lap that I could get."

John Roberts "And so often we always say on this program especially that this is not the witness protection program. You’re out here to get attention and what wonderful attention that brings to all his sponsors and also the sport."

Pete Schnatz "Yeah and definitely, I mean, you look at five years maybe ten years down the road he is not going to want to do that but right now he is young enough he has enough stamina, he is going to go out there, plus you figure he has more crowds to excite or arouse or make mad, one way or the other."
