Kyle Petty and host John Roberts along with special guest Bob Pockrass with NASCAR Scene/SceneDaily.com at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.

John Roberts: "We are going to talk about the pit crews and how they have their chance to shine. It is all about the stars of NASCAR. Last night it was a pit crew’s chance to sound off and make their names known. This sport is not all about the drivers, we know that but last night crew members had a chance to shine. What happened before years ago was they had this event down at Rockingham and it pretty much flew under the radar, now we had a down to the wire battle between the 83 team Brian Vickers and company for the Red Bull Crew, Joe Gibbs racing Number 11 Team, Number 83 Red Bull Team just barely edged them. When you look at the looks on those crewmembers’ faces, these crewmembers work all the time but they extra hard on that because they get a ton of cash, bragging rights and now this thing is front and center, these guys are starting to get noticed."

Bob Pockrass: "It is a great event, it has nothing to do with what they do on track, on Sundays, they don’t push the car that far. Or if they are it is not a good thing, but it is good event for them and their families to come and cheer them on, you see their wives, kids, girlfriends, it is a good event."

Kyle Petty: "It's a great event, I think you see not only the guys that go over the wall, you see guys from back at the shop who never get a chance to go in here because of hot passes and everything it takes to get through an
act of congress to get inside the garage area at the cup series now. These guys come out and support the guys who go over the wall, and these are great events. I do wish they had this in multiple cities, how cool would this be in a casino in Las Vegas, how cool would this be in some of the cities we go to just to have two or three like this a year, to let the pit crews and those guys shine, they are a critical part of the sport. We see it during qualifying for this all-star race."

John Roberts: "So you guys would like the drivers to take a back seat?"

Kyle Petty: "Oh yea definitely"

Bob Pockrass: I don’t know if it would work in Las Vegas in a casino, because I don't know how many people that are not connected with the crews and the teams would actually come and watch it."

Kyle Petty: "For the right amount of money works everywhere. If you could pick four different cities on the circuit and say where would be a great place, or could we incorporate it into something else? Charlotte does a lot with Speed Street downtown; there is a lot that goes on during Daytona. Daytona we are down there for two weeks. I would love to see something like this the first week of the year in Daytona. Daytona gets boring away from the race track. To give the fans that are in the Daytona area an opportunity to go to the ocean center and see something like this, it won’t work everywhere but it will work somewhere."

Bob Pockrass: "Kyle would like to see the teams spend more money and fly these guys in for another day."
