Kyle Petty: "And that’s why NASCAR wants to open up testing next year to all the tracks that we race at because it does no good for NASCAR to have guys testing at Lakeland and Kentucky if they are not racing there. That is not the market they are looking for..."

Kyle Petty: "Yeah, I argued that point for Goodyear; it never did us any good to go test somewhere and not be able to run a Goodyear tire. Goodyear brought you to the dance, stay with Goodyear. Don't go run a Hoosier, or some off-brand tire don’t go with some goofy test that you have to go run.

Mike Mulhern: So what I am suggesting is that next year we open up testing at all the race tracks. You guys have to show up ten days before the race, you bring your haulers, you bring your souvenirs, you go out there and you sign autographs. These guys get in for free, you’re not really racing but they get in for free. They can show up, they can get you to sign some hats and stuff like that, and we’re marketing tickets for the next race there."

Kyle Petty: "A driver signing autographs? What is up with you? Here is my point, if we’re going to go that far, and then here is what I say. NASCAR ought to just own all the teams and own all the cars and we just show up and draw a pill and get in which ever car NASCAR wants to."

Mike Mulhern: "Wait a minute; you have seen the Car of Tomorrow? That is exactly what they've got."

John Roberts: "Hey guys, there’s got to be a compromise. There’s got to be a way Goodyear, NASCAR and the teams can get together. Let’s test 10 times with a Goodyear tire."

Kyle Petty: "There is no compromise, and here is why there is no compromise. It is the rich get richer and the poor get poorer and that’s the fact of life in sports and in true society, but why should we legislate that. Why do we have to keep dumbing down the competitive teams? Every rule we make is against Roush, or Gibbs or Hendrick or somebody like that. I don’t want to legislate those guys down; I want the sport to get better. Let them go test every week, if my team can’t afford to test every week; we have got to get more competitive, get more money and go test. I think testing should be opened up to everybody, anywhere, anytime, 365 24-7. I don’t care how much it costs. That is my point."

Mike Mulhern: "How much, thirty, forty thousand dollars to do a test. You fly the plane up there."

Kyle Petty: "Thirty or forty thousand, where are you from? Try a hundred and thirty, that’s what it costs. It is huge, man."

John Roberts: "Mike is on the bargain plan; he has a coupon for testing..."
