JR Motorsports driver Brad Keselowski has finished third or better in the last four NASCAR Nationwide Series races, but he has been unable to make up much ground in the series championship battle.

Keselowski was 241 points behind Kyle Busch before winning at Dover, finishing second at Nashville and third at Kentucky and Milwaukee. But he was only able to knock 23 points off Busch’s lead and now trails by 218 heading into this weekend’s race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

“Just need to be a little faster to win races,” Keselowski said after the Milwaukee race. “At the end of the day, we’ve won one race, and we’re going to have to win more than one race to be a contender to win the championship
and beat Kyle. We’re knocking on the door. We just need a little bit of speed.”

While Keselowski has been terrific in recent races, Busch has been all but unbeatable. Busch has led the most laps in the last eight races and has finished 17th, first, second and second in the last four.

At Milwaukee, Keselowski figured to have a slight advantage since he was able to practice and qualify his No. 88 Chevrolet while Busch and Roush Fenway Racing’s Carl Edwards were en route from from their Sprint Cup duties at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

But the missed practice and starting from the rear of the field didn’t seem to hurt the Cup drivers, as Edwards won and Busch finished second.
