Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Clint Bowyer led the way in opening practice Thursday for Friday night's NASCAR Nationwide Series Subway Jalapeno 250 at Daytona International Speedway, turning identical lap times of 191.046 mph.

Drivers No. 3 and 4 on the speed chart, Kurt Busch and Kyle Busch, likewise recorded identical top speeds as the brothers posted laps of 190.913.

JR Motorsports teammates Cole Whitt and Danica Patrick were fifth and sixth, respectively.

Qualifying and the race are both scheduled for Friday.
