Eighteen-year-old Ryan Blaney, driving the No. 22 Penske Racing Dodge, led Friday's opening NASCAR Nationwide Series practice in preparation for Saturday's Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Blaney lapped the 1.5-mile track at 166.713 mph to lead Kenny Wallace (166.087), Brad Sweet, Sam Hornish Jr. and Austin Dillon.

Championship contenders Elliott Sadler and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. were eighth and 10th fastest, respectively.

Stenhouse, the reigning series champion, leads Sadler by 20 points entering the final race, while Dillon sits third and 25 points back.
