Paul Menard scored the fifth Nationwide Series pole of his career Friday afternoon, leading time trials for Friday night’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Menard, driving a Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, turned a lap at 181.714 miles per hour to lead the qualifying session.

Following in the top five were Denny Hamlin, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Austin Dillon and Elliott Sadler.

The pole is Menard’s first at TMS.
