Turner Motorsports announced Wednesday that Miguel Paludo will return to the organization's NASCAR Nationwide Series lineup for the upcoming event at Watkins Glen International. Paludo will get behind the wheel of the No. 30 Duroline Brakes and Components Chevrolet Impala at the 2.45-mile road course for his second career Nationwide start.

A two-time champion in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Brasil, Paludo has extensive road-racing experience. His one previous Nationwide start came on the road course at Road America in June. Paludo led four laps and ran up front for much of the event, but lost three laps due to a broken sway-bar arm in the closing laps, resulting in a 29th-place finish. Paludo also has one other start on a NASCAR road course, which he made at Lime Rock Park in a NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race in 2010. Paludo started and finished ninth in the event.

The Brazilian has made 39 starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, with three top-fives, 10 top-10's and a best finish of third coming at Michigan International Speedway last August. Paludo also made history earlier this season at Daytona International Speedway by becoming the first Brazilian driver to win a pole in one of NASCAR's top three series.

"I am really excited to be racing at Watkins Glen," Paludo said. "I've never been to that track before, but I was so incredibly comfortable in the Nationwide car at Road America. We were running up front all day and we just had some bad luck at the end when the sway-bar arm broke, so we didn't get the finish we deserved.

"I just want to turn that all around and have a good weekend at The Glen. I know that we will be extremely competitive, so I want to bring home a great finish for the team, for myself and for Duroline. I had so much fun road course racing earlier in the year, so I'm really pumped about this."

The Zippo 200 at The Glen is scheduled for Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. ET. Paludo is guaranteed a starting spot in the field by virtue of the No. 30 team's full-time Nationwide Series status.
