Joey Logano paced the field in the happy hour practice session for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Alliance Truck Parts 250 at Michigan International Speedway. Logano made a fast lap at 189.773 mph in 37.94 seconds.
The balance of the top five fastest included Cole Whitt, Brian Scott, Austin Dillon, and Danica Patrick who lapped the 2 mile oval at 189.215 mph..
Series leader Elliott Sadler ran 187.720 mph, good for 12th position.
Qualifying will be at 11:05 am ET on Saturday.
