Kevin Harvick led the first practice session for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Dollar General 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway…

With just five events left in the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series the action centers on the 1.5 mile (2.4 km) quad oval at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The first practice session for the Dollar General 300 saw Kevin Harvick post the fastest time with a lap of 29.75 seconds and a top speed of 181.488 mph.

Austin Dillon (181.068) was second fastest with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. , Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch rounding out the top five.

Danica Patrick was 14th and series leader Elliott Sadler was 7th.

Final practice is scheduled for 6:10 pm ET tonight with qualifying at 4:05 pm on Friday.
