Joey Logano turned a fast lap of 29.56 seconds on the repaved 1.5 miles (2.4 km) tri-oval race track in Kansas City, Kansas, hitting 182.692 MPH in the first of two practice sessions for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Kansas Lottery 300..

The top five included Kenny Wallace (181.702), Paul Menard, Series points leader Elliott Sadler, and Cole Whitt.

Danica Patrick posted 11th fastest.

Qualifying is set for Saturday 12:05 pm (ET).
