Kyle Busch, surprisingly winless in 19 NASCAR Nationwide Series starts this season, paced Friday's final Nationwide practice held at Texas Motor Speedway in preparation for Saturday's O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge.
Driving his own No. 54 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota, Busch (183.038 mph) led the way over the Richard Childress Racing Chevy of Austin Dillon (181.354) and the Roush Fenway Racing Ford of reigning series champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (180.355).
Danica Patrick was a stout fourth in the No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet, followed by Sam Hornish Jr. and points leader Elliott Sadler.
Brad Sweet, Kevin Harvick, Ryan Blaney and Kevin Swindell completed the top 10.
Sadler leads the standings by six points over Stenhouse, and 26 over Dillon with three races left to settle the 2012 title.
Qualifying and the race at Texas are on tap for Saturday.
