Elliott Sadler saw his Sprint Cup qualifying record at Charlotte Motor Speedway wiped out Thursday.
Sadler got some satisfaction Friday, however, winning the pole for Friday night’s Dollar General 300 Nationwide Series race with a speed of 184.237 miles per hour.
Sadler carries the series point lead into tonight’s race. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is second, nine points behind, and Austin Dillon is third, 25 back.
Dillon rolled in second in the qualifying session, losing to his Richard Childress Racing teammate by .37 of a second.
Joey Logano was third, and Stenhouse Jr. took fourth, one spot in front of Kevin Harvick.
In the second five were Kyle Busch, Brian Scott, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski and Sam Hornish Jr.
