Elliott Sadler confirmed Monday that he will drive full-time for Joe Gibbs Racing next year in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

“See the news is out,” Sadler said on Twitter Monday afternoon. “Yep As of 145pm sat. I became the newest driver at JGR! Awesome!!”

Sadler was runner-up to Ricky Stenhouse Jr. for the NNS title in 2011-12. Last year, he drove for Kevin Harvick Inc., which was sold to Richard Childress Racing at the end of the year. Although Sadler had a successful campaign again this year, he was not offered a contract extension at RCR.

He will have an excellent opportunity to finally claim a series championship driving for JGR next year, where he’ll be paired with a familiar face, fellow former Sprint Cup regular Brian Vickers. Both Sadler and Vickers will contend for the series championship next year driving for team owner Joe Gibbs and President J.D. Gibbs.

“Can't thank Coach and JD enough for this great opportunity...my family and I are ecstatic...thank you guys for all the tweets and congrats,” Sadler said on Twitter.
