Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin (197.472 mph) led Thursday's opening NASCAR Nationwide Series practice in preparation for Saturday's DRIVE4COPD 300 at Daytona International Speedway.

JGR driver Brian Scott (197.468), Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart completed the top five.

Positions six through 10 on the speed chart belonged to Joey Logano, Kasey Kahne, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Joe Nemechek and Michael Annett.

Danica Patrick clocked in 11th in the No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet.
