African-American driver Darrell Wallace Jr. notched a big plus on his career belt Saturday by winning the pole for Saturday afternoon’s OneMain Financial 200 Nationwide Series race at Dover International Speedway.

Wallace, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, had a fast lap of 155.905 miles per hour to outrun Justin Allgaier for the first starting spot. It is Wallace’s first pole in four Nationwide events. He is 18 years old.

Following in the top five were Joey Logano, Elliott Sadler and Kasey Kahne.

In the second five were Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Kyle Busch, Ryan Blaney, Austin Dillon and Paul Menard.

Sadler leads the series points by four over Stenhouse, the defending champion. Dillon is third, 19 points behind.
