Kasey Kahne captured the pole for tonight’s Lipton Tea 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Richmond International Raceway, turning a fast lap of 125.127 miles per hour in his Gillett Evernham Motorsports Dodge Charger.

Carl Edwards, the defending NASCAR Nationwide Series champion, put his Roush Fenway Racing Ford on the outside pole with a lap of 124.988 mph.

Row 2 for tonight’s race will consist of Denny Hamlin’s Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, the car that leads in series owner points and qualified at 124.706 mph, and Mark Green, who ran 124.659 mph in his Chevrolet.

Completing the top five was the current Nationwide Series driver points leader, Clint Bowyer, who wheeled his Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet to a lap of 124.636 mph.

The second five consisted of Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, David Reutimann, David Ragan and Scott Wimmer.

Brad Keselowski spun his No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet coming out of Turn 4 on his qualifying lap, but managed to keep the car off the wall.
