YOUNGER AUDIENCES TUNING INTO NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES ON SPEED™

TEXAS RACE MARKS BEGINNING OF FOUR CONSECUTIVE WEEKS OF TRUCK RACING ON SPEED

Steering clear of recent downward trends in motor sports television ratings, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series continues its growth on SPEED, driven in part by increased viewership by younger audiences. Nielsen Household Ratings have been higher in three of the five NCWTS races on SPEED this season, with all three earning double-digit ratings increases among Men 18-49. Daytona saw Truck ratings increase 12 percent in the demographic, Atlanta enjoyed a 16-percent surge and last weekend’s race at Dover was up 24 percent.

“After seeing ratings growth in nearly every NASCAR Camping World Series race last season, it has been great to see the series come back with continued growth in 2009,” said SPEED President Hunter Nickell. “Especially when that growth is being driven by younger audiences …it’s great momentum as the series heads into the summer and storylines begin to develop.”

The next NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on SPEED is tomorrow night from Texas Motor Speedway with NCWTS Setup at 8:30 p.m. ET and race coverage beginning at 9 p.m. ET. The event marks the first of four consecutive Truck racing weekends on SPEED.

Also on NASCAR RaceDay, the SPEED team will listen in on the first weekend pairing of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and crew chief Lance McGrew, hearing live from Junior’s new pit boss.

Other Sunday guests will include NASCAR Sprint Cup
Championship points leader Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards, Casey Mears, Ryan Newman and Brian Vickers.
