NASCAR DRIVERS, SPEED ON-AIR PERSONALITIES TEAM UP TO SUPPORT MRO FRIDAY AT BLACK ROCK SPEEDWAY

SPEED on-air personalities Bob Dillner and Rutledge Wood will team up with NASCAR drivers and team members Friday, Aug. 8 at Black Rock Speedway to benefit Motor Racing Outreach (MRO).

Drivers scheduled to appear at the Hoag family’s Dundee, N.Y. track include Landon Cassill, Michael McDowell, David Reutimann and his father Buzzie, among others.

Crew members from the No. 1, 11, 18 and 55 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams will compete in the four-cylinder Enduro race, while NASCAR drivers and Dillner strap into 358 Modified cars. Dillner, who has driven Modified and Sprint cars at Black Rock, won a Mini Stock race there in 2006 and finished third in last year’s NASCAR Modified celebrity race.

Dillner and brother Matt organized the event, whose proceeds will benefit MRO.

“It’s always a packed house at Black Rock and I think this will be no exception with many from the NASCAR garage, plus the Mods and Sprints in action,” said Bob Dillner, NASCAR Victory Lane reporter. “There’s even talk Tony (Stewart) wants to bring his
360 Sprint Car over to compete. Plus I get to drive a Modified and possibly a Sprint Car. But the best part is it benefits MRO. They do so many things for many people within the racing industry and it’s just a great opportunity to give back to them.”

Dillner and Wood, NASCAR RaceDay reporter, are among those scheduled to sign autographs during the evening, which kicks off at 6:45 p.m. The night’s regular racing line-up consists of ASCS Sprints, 358 Modifieds and other local divisions.
