Sprint CUP star, Kasey Kahne, will be a featured guest on Wind Tunnel this Sunday July 6th as he joins Dave Despain LIVE in the studio. Kahne is having a great year...posting 2 wins and a victory in the Sprint All-Star Race. Currently, Kasey is 10th in the championship. That’s a far cry from where he and his team were last season as he failed to collect a win and finished the season 19th in the standings. So, what’s been the spark for this year’s turnaround? We’ll talk to Kasey about his success and get his thoughts on making a charge for championship.

2005 NHRA Funny Car Champion Gary Scelzi , will also be a featured guest on Wind Tunnel this Sunday. This week, NHRA made an unprecedented move by temporarily shortening the race distance for their two nitro classes from 1/4 mile to 1000 feet, effective immediately. This decision comes in reaction to the death of Funny Car competitor,
Scott Kalitta, who lost his life in an accident in Englishtown, NJ two weeks ago when his out-of-control car failed to significantly slow down before hitting several obstructions at the end of the track. By shortening the race distance, NHRA has lengthened the shut-down area for the 330mph Funny Car and Top Fuel dragsters. But will this be solution? And if not, what is? Should the cars be slowed down? Are they safe? We’ll address all these issues with Scelzi, a 3-time Top Fuel champ, 2005 Funny Car champ, and first Funny Car driver in history to surpass the 330mph mark.
