INDUSTRY: PRI Trade Show Begins This Week

The is the Fifth Year for the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show and a large crowd is anticipated.

WHAT: Special events, kart racing and exhibits by 1,100 motorsports companies in the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show, the world’s largest racing trade show, in Orlando, FL, will make Thursday, Friday and Saturday, December 10-12, 2009, the three biggest business days in all of motorsports.

WHO: More than 40,000 racing industry buyers from all 50 states, plus 60 countries, attended the PRI Trade Show last year in the North/South Building of the Orange County Convention Center. Racing retailers, race engine builders, racing fabricators, wholesaler/distributors, professional race teams and more come to preview the latest advances in racing products, motorsports engineering and precision machining equipment.

LONGEVITY: Returning for its fifth straight year to the Orange County Convention Center, the 22nd Annual PRI Trade Show, is one of the top 50 trade shows in America, according to TradeShow Week, an industry publication.

WHY: “Orlando has become the place where the racing industry gathers because “everything happens here first,” states Steve Lewis, producer of the PRI Trade Show.

TIMING: The PRI Trade Show is timed to provide racing retailers, warehouse distributors, race engine builders, professional race teams, motorsports engineers and race car fabricators the opportunity to preview the latest racing product lines, make purchase decisions and have new parts in stock for the start of next year’s racing season. It includes components for all forms of auto racing, including stock car, drag, open wheel, off-road, rally, karting, sport compact drag and all facets of road racing.

The key to the PRI Trade Show’s success?

In Orlando, the entire PRI Trade Show is located in one hall, on one floor. “Orlando provides the PRI Trade Show with all the attributes of a great host city, including a spectacular convention center, and this has been proven by the enormous volume of business transactions concluded every year at the Show,” Lewis adds.

EVENTS:

AETC Conference – the Advanced Engineering Technology Conference celebrates its 20th year as the premier seminar series for race engine builders and will be held Mon.-Wed., Dec. 7-9, at the convention center.

Motor Sport Business Forum – the business conference on the racing industry will be held Tues. and Wed,, Dec. 8-9, at the Orlando Hilton.

PRI’s Industry Roundtable – the best discussion of the issues in the racing industry today begins at 1:30 p.m., Wed., Dec. 9, at the Convention Center

Grand Opening Breakfast – Over 3,000 members of the racing industry will gather for a hot breakfast and a live episode of the popular Wind Tunnel TV show, featuring Dave Despain. The Breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m., Thurs., Dec. 10.

PRI /CKI All-Star Karting Classic – One of the most star-studded race grids of the year with professional drivers from all arenas of racing. The race begins at 7 p.m., Thurs., on the special race track adjacent to the Convention Center.

Bobby Rahal’s Road Racing Drivers Symposium – Legendary driver Bobby Rahal and special guest speakers will discuss the inside secrets to becoming a winning driver beginning at 8:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 11, in meeting rooms S330 E & F.
